Privacy Policy
Last updated June 19, 2026
Ladiga Memory Lab ("we," "us") is a digitizing service based in Piedmont, Alabama, operated as a DBA of Ladiga Studios LLC. This policy covers two things: the information collected through this website and ordinary business contact, and the media you hand over to be digitized.
Information collected
Only what is needed to give a quote and complete an order is collected:
- Contact details you provide. When you fill out the quote form, call, email, or text, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, your city or ZIP, and any notes about your order.
- Order details. A description of the tapes, photos, and other media you want digitized, along with delivery preferences and any special instructions.
- The media itself. The physical tapes and prints you drop off, mail, or ship, and the digital files created from them.
- Basic website data. Like most websites, the host may record standard technical information such as IP address and browser type in server logs. This site does not run advertising trackers.
How your information is used
Your information is used to respond to your request, prepare a quote, complete your order, deliver your finished files, return your originals, and communicate with you about the work. It is not used for anything unrelated to your order.
How your media is handled
Your tapes, photos, and the files made from them are treated as private and personal:
- Your media is handled by one person and is not shared, published, sold, or shown to anyone without your permission.
- Your original tapes and prints are returned to you when the work is finished.
- Finished digital files are kept only long enough to deliver them to you and to cover the short window in case a replacement copy is needed. After that, working copies are deleted. If you would like your files deleted immediately on delivery, just ask.
- The example photos shown on this website are used with permission. Your media will never appear on this site or anywhere else without your explicit say-so.
Selling your data
Your personal information and your media are never sold, rented, or traded. Ever.
Third parties
A few outside services help run the business. They only ever receive what is needed for their specific function:
- Website hosting. The company that hosts this site stores the site files and may keep standard server logs.
- Video hosting (Mux). The sample clip on the home page is delivered through Mux, a video hosting service. Loading the page may share basic technical data with Mux so the video can play. No customer media is uploaded to Mux.
- Form delivery and email. Quote requests reach us by email, so the email provider handling that message processes it in transit.
- Card payments (Stripe). If you pay by card, the payment is processed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. Card details are entered with Stripe and we do not store your full card numbers. Cash and check payments involve no third party.
These providers act on our behalf or under their own published privacy policies, and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing through us.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party advertising analytics. Embedded content such as the video player may set its own cookies when you load it; you can block cookies in your browser settings if you prefer.
Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect your information and your media: physical originals are kept secure while in our care, digital files are stored on protected devices, and access is limited to the person doing your work. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely risk-free, but your media is treated with the same care we would want for our own.
Children's information
This is a service for adults arranging digitizing work, and the site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Family media you submit may of course contain images of children; that media is handled with the same privacy and care as everything else and is never shared without your permission.
Your choices
You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for your finished files to be deleted, or ask us to stop contacting you. To make any of these requests, reach out using the contact details below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
